What is Performance Support?

Generally, Performance Support assists employees in their daily workflows. This means that employees receive precisely the information and explanations they need, tailored to their competencies.

In principle, every employee should be consistently developed throughout their employment. This is due to two factors: constantly changing external circumstances, and the need for employees to be optimally equipped with knowledge for their roles at all times. If this employee development occurs in a structured and comprehensive manner, the company’s success is guaranteed.

Performance Support in the Age of Digital Learning?

In this context, it is logical to adequately integrate this topic into common learning management systems. Thus, Swissteach has very successfully implemented the “Performance Support” module in the Global Teach® LMS, to the delight of customers and users.

“Performance Support” enables supervisors to define the individual development goals of their employees and track their personal progress. Depending on requirements, employees can be assigned target competencies that need to be fulfilled. Specifically, this means that an employee is assigned specific target profiles by their supervisor, which are linked to certain e-learnings and training courses. The employee can then work through the provided digital learning content, thereby approaching the desired target knowledge state. Thanks to the “Performance Support” module in the LMS Global Teach®, supervisors have the ability to track the current progress status and adjust the goals of the target competencies if necessary.

Performance Support offers many advantages for efficient EMPLOYEE TRAINING.

Especially when managing a large company with many employees, it can be challenging to foster each individual as ideally as would be beneficial for corporate success. However, thanks to the Performance Support module, this is not an issue, as you can train all employees simultaneously, tailored to their individual needs, and track their progress at any time. The Performance Support module in the LMS Global Teach® particularly excels because it is well-structured and provides both parties, i.e., supervisors and employees, insight into target and actual competencies.

To make the entire process as efficient as possible, the Performance Support module should be used in combination with the “Performance Review” and “Performance Check” modules. Together, these three modules enable the entire process, from competency assessment and goal setting to linking appropriate e-learning courses, to be designed efficiently. Performance Support is therefore the ideal solution for the further training of your employees, enabling them to acquire relevant competencies as needed, without getting lost in the crowd or potentially forgetting important content.
