E-LEARNING PLATFORM COMPARISON: WHICH PLATFORM IS THE BEST?

5 Minuten

At the latest, the Corona pandemic has significantly accelerated digitization processes in companies and beyond. What was previously often one option among many suddenly became the only way to maintain the desired standard in a wide variety of fields. This also includes learning and further education, as actual presence is currently almost impossible due to contact restrictions. However, e-learning has been on the rise for some time – no wonder, as it is flexible, cost-effective and efficient, and therefore important for both employees and private individuals.

E-learning, like so many applications of today’s time, is largely platform-based and therefore requires the appropriate structures. We would therefore like to show you what is important in a platform comparison in order to give you an appropriate overview.

Before the E-Learning Platform Comparison, it is First Necessary to Understand the Concept of E-Learning.

For the sake of comparison, the term e-learning must first be defined and thus somewhat narrowed down. However, a clear and limiting definition is usually not so trivial. In general, e-learning refers to platforms and tools that aim to enable online learning through digital and technical support. Often, this includes concepts such as digital classrooms, or the implementation of career-relevant training topics in an online format, as these excellently fulfill the important learning function and offer an efficient alternative to face-to-face training.

Not Every E-Learning Platform is Best Suited for Every Customer: Know your Own Needs.

Comparisons based on real performance indicators are of course always important. For example, the price and the possible number of learning contents can be easily compared with each other and conclusions can be drawn from this. However, this is not the only way to find a solution. Rather, it is important to examine a broad spectrum of needs in order to find the platform that best suits EXACTLY THAT company.

A good, inexpensive and broadly positioned provider, which, for example, seems to offer an acceptable solution to very general requirements, can often score well on paper and may be a good alternative for many interested parties at first glance. However, anyone who needs specific and more in-depth knowledge on more specific topics, and has very individual needs, will reach their limits here and may be better off with a niche solution. Therefore, both private and business customers should always pay attention to this when comparing e-learning platforms and also think about their own requirements.

E-learning Platform Comparison: a Good List of Requirements is Half the Battle.

In general, we find again and again that it is extremely important to compile all the requirements for a potential E-LEARNING platform for the comparison in advance, in a so-called “requirements specification”. The best approach here is to use such a list, including the associated prioritizations.

You will notice that more and more points are added in the course of the development and that many other areas of your company with their respective requirements get involved – no wonder, after all, the topic of training ultimately affects your entire company. In order to keep track of things there, it is important to prioritize the requirements, for example into “must haves” and “nice to haves”. The more specific you become, the easier it will be to measure the providers against your list later on. By the way, we also advise many companies on the compilation of such requirements specifications. After all, we have many years of experience with this and therefore know how to proceed best and what is important in the end, or what you should think about specifically.

Recommendations, Research and Testing Help to Find the Best E-Learning Platform

The decision for or against an e-learning platform is important, after all, both time and costs will be invested in it as a result, making it necessary to proceed with real consideration here. In the end, the platform should bring its added value for several years and establish itself in the long term. Therefore, it always makes sense to obtain recommendations from references, conduct your own research and / or try out the potential system yourself on a trial basis. Many providers offer free demo access for this purpose.

We offer you broad information on these and other topics on our website. We are happy to advise you or show you our solutions in a conversation. Perhaps you too will find that the e-learning platform comparison becomes obsolete, as you as a customer can further develop your users to their complete satisfaction with us. Try it out!

Designated HR staff organise most of the administrative tasks (e.g. invitations to participants, reservations for rooms and the necessary infrastructure or other resources). Parts of the process are partially automated.
A software system automates numerous actions. However, there are still numerous manual organisational tasks that require specific employees to take action for the final organisation.
We already have a (learning management) system that supports us with the organisational tasks required for training. There are still a few organisational tasks that have to be carried out manually by a very small number of employees and with only a manageable amount of effort.
