LMS MOBILE

7 Minuten

‘Learn wherever you are!’ – I came across that phrase in an IT journal a few years ago. With a smirk, I dismissed it as marketing fluff, put the magazine down and turned my attention back to my hairdresser. “Rather than getting wound up and thinking about our so-called ‘model’ learning platform, I’d rather watch Janine at work and admire my new highlights,” I thought to myself. Little did I know that Swissteach AG, the company behind that article, would cross my path more than once in the future. I’m Verena, a project manager at a dynamic company – and one of the most frequent phrases in my calendar is: ‘external meeting’. My workplace rarely stays in the same place, which, until recently, made company training somewhat tricky, to say the least. Between client meetings, online workshops, presentations and last-minute location changes, there was rarely time for fixed learning slots. Training? Nearly impossible. Our old LMS may have been well-intentioned, but it wasn’t built for mobile. Content only worked properly on a desktop. I needed a stable internet connection, peace and quiet, and time – none of which I had in my day-to-day work. The result? I was constantly falling behind. And honestly, learning motivation just wasn’t there.

DON’T BE AFRAID OF CHANGE – IT MIGHT JUST WORK OUT

Then came the day when an internal project team announced that something was about to change. The LMS – in its existing state – was no longer an option for the future. I couldn’t have agreed more. A provider had already been selected: a Swiss company based near Lake Biel – Swissteach AG. The name rang a bell, and I remembered my highlights. ‘GLOBAL TEACH® is a real step towards a new kind of workplace learning!’ they declared enthusiastically. I was sceptical at first, but also hopeful that digital learning might finally become more manageable for me. I simply couldn’t keep blocking out fixed laptop time to do training or take online assessments – logging in, selecting a module, hoping it would load, and trying not to be interrupted. More often than not, it happened as a rushed “quick one” on a Friday afternoon, just before heading home after my last client meeting. No one had the patience for that anymore – and frankly, that wasn’t the point of learning.

AND THEN CAME GLOBAL TEACH®

Fast forward: I have to change trains in Neustadt. Fifteen minutes is easily enough time for a coffee from the bakery and a quick learning session.

These days, my smartphone is all I need. I open GLOBAL TEACH® almost as naturally as others check their social media apps, just to see what’s new or whether I can complete a short module in a few spare minutes. Thankfully, the content is available offline too – the mobile signal in Neustadt is far from ideal. I revise content, explore new MODULES, and answer questions. I can repeat, reinforce or refresh knowledge as needed – without scheduling or stress. That’s what using an LMS on mobile should look like – without getting in the way.

The best thing is, it no longer feels like “just another task to get done”. Learning is now part of my everyday work – something I can fit in quickly, without fuss or delay!

MY MOBILE LMS SUPPORTS ME THROUGHOUT THE WORKDAY

Since our company started using GLOBAL TEACH®, I’ve developed a personal learning rhythm that fits my life.

  • Tuesday is my learning day. My daughter is at sports training in the evening, and I have a 90-minute train journey between two appointments – perfect for a longer module or a few focused quiz sessions.
  • In the morning on the train, I often start the day with a short quiz or a short quiz or a quick learning unit to get going.
  • While the coffee’s brewing, I’ll watch a short video or work through a small task.
  • In the evening on the sofa, if my mind’s still alert, I reflect with a learning check or review a summary on my tablet.

I choose when I learn. I set my own pace. And Swissteach’s LMS on mobile is flexible enough to support me along the way. Thanks to my structured approach with one dedicated learning day each week, I now achieve far more in a single day and much more efficiently than I did a year ago. And if I have an extended period working off-site, I simply adjust my plans spontaneously, wherever and whenever I need to.

Many of my colleagues have had similar experiences – especially those working from home or on the road. Since introducing GLOBAL TEACH® for our E-LEARNING, there’s been a clear shift in how people approach learning.

Usage increased without any top-down instructions. No reminders, no monitoring. The platform was made easy to access, and that made it attractive. Hybrid teams in particular benefit, as learning works just as well anywhere.

GLOBAL TEACH® has become our shared place to learn – no matter where we are.

THIS MOBILE E-LEARNING PLATFORM CONVINCES

What really impressed me: the technical implementation of the mobile LMS is well thought out. It’s not a cut-down version or a compromise, but a full-featured system designed specifically for mobile use.

  • The design is responsive and intuitive – across all devices.
  • Offline access allows me to learn even without a stable connection.
  • Personalised learning paths guide me through the content – tailored to my role, pace, and prior knowledge.
  • Reminders and feedback help me stay on track.

Swissteach’s mobile e-learning platform is no compromise – it meets high standards.

MAKING E-LEARNING ON MOBILE WORK TAKES MORE THAN JUST AN APP

Of course, the switch wasn’t done in a single click. Content had to be revised and reworked for mobile learning. Texts, graphics, videos – everything was adapted without losing depth.

Data protection was a central concern too: access to learning data, cross-device synchronisation – everything had to be compliant and technically sound.

Swissteach supported us throughout – professionally, pragmatically, and with the bigger picture in mind. What began as an idea became a strategic learning decision – and what was once a standard LMS turned into a true solution for the future.

MOBILE LEARNING – YES, OF COURSE!

I’ve been learning more since I stopped having to plan when to learn. It simply fits in – between meetings, during quiet moments, whenever I’m ready for it.

Wasted waiting time turns into productive learning time. The platform tracks my progress, shows what I’ve completed and what’s next – which is naturally motivating.

For me, mobile e-learning isn’t just a supplement anymore. It’s the core of how I grow, develop professionally and approach learning.

WHAT LMS MOBILE SHOULD MEAN IN THE FUTURE

Mobile working is already a reality. Learning solutions that fail to reflect this feel stuck in the past. A modern LMS must be designed with mobile in mind – not just accessible on a phone, but truly built for it.

A mobile-first LMS means delivering knowledge wherever it’s needed: during breaks, on the move, in everyday life.

Swissteach’s GLOBAL TEACH® demonstrates how it’s done – with a platform that’s technically reliable and didactically sound. Learning becomes more flexible and more engaging. Attractive learning content, innovative formats and clear insights into your own progress – that, for me, is the key to real learning success.
