It’s another Monday morning at SWISSTEACH headquarters in Nidau, not far from Lake Biel. The four executive board members have once again gathered the entire team to discuss how training methods in E-LEARNING FOR COMPANIES can be best implemented.
Everyone here is aware that employee development has become incredibly important in today’s modern and fast-paced working world. At the same time, they understand that it is primarily new technologies that optimally showcase the various training methods. Now it’s just a matter of how these
The following report reconstructs the events of this auspicious Monday between 9:00 AM and 9:30 AM.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WITH E-LEARNING: THE “NIDAU LEARNING REVOLUTION”
The mood is cheerful. The SWISSTEACH employees are happily sharing stories about their weekends. The new intern, not yet accustomed to such openness, elaborates in great detail on last week’s boisterous class trip – an awkward silence fills the room.
Philippe quickly senses the awkwardness among his colleagues and takes the floor: “E-learning has emerged as a central pillar of employee development, enabling companies to respond to educational needs quickly and promptly, regardless of time and location. As we all know, there are various training methods and approaches when it comes to imparting important skills to employees. The possibilities are virtually inexhaustible. The only question is how to find the right training methods and concepts for a specific company and a specific use case? And once you have a suitable concept, how do you implement it correctly?”
The intern, who had drawn negative attention with his unprofessional and suggestive remarks, now wants to make amends. “Well, the first step to successfully implementing training methods and e-learning courses is careful planning. For Swissteach, this means we need to thoroughly analyze our customers’ needs to ensure that the content is relevant and tailored. The selection of content is crucial to achieve measurable results and maximize learning success.”
Astonished by the precision of this statement, a new train of thought opens up for Isabelle, seamlessly connecting to what was just said: “Once we have identified these training method requirements, we must, of course, also offer our customers the appropriate technologies and platforms. We have been developing our LMS GLOBAL TEACH® for twenty years now. Through extensive feedback and continuous work, we have created a system that individually addresses the needs of our customers. Excellent conditions, I would say, wouldn’t you?”
“Basically, yes – that’s a step in the right direction. However, the training methods must also be engaging, ideally making learning enjoyable for the learners,” replies Theresa, who has only been part of the team for two weeks.
Isabelle immediately interjects: “For this reason, we now also offer our customers interactive and multimedia learning content! For example, by using gamification elements or a ranking system for learners who can work their way up to a certain level of expertise within the system, we ensure that employees do not perceive learning as a tedious chore, but ideally not even as work in that sense. With our LMS, we aim to provide a dynamic and exciting learning experience and thus specifically promote employee training. And I believe Swissteach has the necessary tools for this. Companies just need to be made sufficiently aware of it.”
Theresa seems convinced and adds: “So, we primarily focus on interactive training methods that support active employee participation and thereby foster a deep understanding of learning? I can imagine that such training methods would much better focus one’s attention. For me, it would certainly enhance the learning experience immediately. To be honest, in my old job, I rarely paid real attention during training sessions and was then, of course, overwhelmed in practice.”
Philippe nods in agreement with Theresa: “And if we want to pursue a holistic and sustainable approach, a one-time provision of GLOBAL TEACH® is not enough. We also want to remain in constant contact with our customers afterwards and use their feedback to continuously develop our training methods. The daily use of the LMS is our greatest resource for improvement. Who could provide us with better and more direct feedback than those who experience it every day?”
“Now we just need to ensure that learning success is also measurable,” the intern remarks.
Isabelle smiles knowingly. “Precisely for this purpose, we have implemented various tools in our LMS, in addition to the training methods, that measure employees’ learning progress. This way, supervisors can ensure that their employees are up-to-date. Furthermore, there are also legal reasons for this. Employees often need to provide specific certificates to be allowed to work in their individual roles. These are stored and can be retrieved at the push of a button during, for example, official audits.”
Euphoria and self-confidence fill the room this Monday morning, as all present know that they have taken a collective step forward in their development as an E-LEARNING AGENCY and LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM PROVIDER.
Once again, Swissteach AG’s credo has proven true: Providing HIGH-QUALITY SERVICES FOR CUSTOMERS is one thing – SHAPING THE LEARNING WORLD OF TOMORROW TOGETHER WITH CUSTOMERS is another!
