Another meeting of the “German Training League” (DFB) committee took place recently. Julian N., who had already discussed effective training tools in a previous meeting and hit the bull's eye with those present, would also inspire the audience that afternoon for a central topic of education and training: training platforms.
“The training tools have to be linked together somewhere and find their source in terms of content,” he opened the session. With his passion and persuasiveness, he spoke about the importance of training platforms for DIGITAL EMPLOYEE TRAINING.
WHAT IS A TRAINING PLATFORM?
“Think of a training platform as a comprehensive training centre,” Julian began. “It's a digital environment that enables the creation, management and tracking of training programmes. From videos and quizzes to interactive simulations, everything you need for effective learning is here and digitally connected. You could say it's the centrepiece of our modern training.”
KEY FEATURES OF AN EFFECTIVE TRAINING PLATFORM
User-friendliness: Easy to use for employees and administrators
“A good corporate training platform needs to be intuitive and easy to use,” Julian explained. “Similar to a user-friendly football training device that makes life easier for both coaches and players and contributes to their development.”
Scalability: adaptability to the size of the company
“The training platform should be able to grow with the company,” Julian continued. “Imagine if our training centre could easily expand to accommodate new players without compromising on quality.”
Content management: integration, administration and distribution of training content
“An effective online training platform makes it easy to integrate and distribute content,” said Julian. “It's like a flexible training programme that can always be adapted to the needs of the team.”
Interactivity: integration of videos, quizzes, simulations and discussions
“Interactive elements of the LMS are crucial for engaging learning,” Julian emphasised. “Comparable to interactive training exercises that actively involve and motivate the players.”
Progress tracking: Monitoring the learning progress and performance of employees
“The ability to track learning progress is like a constant performance analysis,” Julian explained. “It means we always know where we stand and which areas need to be improved. The fact that individual learners make different progress and learn at different speeds is also not an issue for an effective training platform. This is taken into account by means of individual learning progress management.”
Accessibility: Availability on various devices (computers, tablets, smartphones)
“Learning should be possible anywhere and at any time,” said Julian. “Like mobile training equipment that is ready for use at any time. So it's no wonder that E-LEARNING FOR COMPANIES is becoming more and more popular. I'm on the bus and it's stuck in a traffic jam during rush hour? Then why don't I just do two or three learning units - they only take a few minutes. The process and the possibilities can be so informal and uncomplicated.”
Integration capability: Seamless integration with other company systems
“A good training platform should integrate seamlessly with existing systems,” Julian added. “It's like a multifunctional training centre that works perfectly with all other facilities.”
ADVANTAGES OF USING TRAINING PLATFORMS FOR EMPLOYEES AND COMPANIES
Efficiency: time and cost savings through automated processes
“The advantages are obvious to us:
We are becoming faster and therefore cheaper in the process.
Learning becomes independent of time and place. Whether on the bus, in the bath or during the lunch break.
We can respond much better to learners' individual requirements.
We increase motivation with appealing, short and crisp learning units.
In the long term, this is reflected in an improved learning culture - and that's exactly what we need, dear friends.
I don't want to let this opportunity pass us by as the “German Training League”. We've been really antiquated up to now and now have the chance to change that with an effective learning platform.”
AREAS OF APPLICATION OF TRAINING PLATFORMS IN COMPANIES
Onboarding new employees: quick and effective familiarisation
“An effective onboarding programme is crucial,” said Julian. “Like a well-organised training camp for new players.”
Compliance training: training on legal regulations and company guidelines
“Compliance training ensures that all regulations are adhered to,” Julian explained. “It's like a set of rules that every player has to know.”
Product and sales training: Training on new products and sales techniques
“Regular product and sales training keeps the team up to date,” said Julian. “Like training on new moves.”
Technical training: Developing specific technical skills
“Technical training is essential,” Julian emphasised. “Comparable to learning specific playing techniques.”
Leadership development: nurturing future leaders
“Leadership development is crucial for long-term success,” said Julian. “Like training future team captains.”
CHOOSING THE RIGHT TRAINING PLATFORM FOR COMPANIES
Criteria and factors: User-friendliness, adaptability, integration capability, costs, support
“There are several factors to consider when choosing the right training platform,” Julian explained. “It's like choosing the best training equipment – it has to fit and support. As in sport, corporate training is often about experience and consistency. For this reason, you could almost say GLOBAL TEACH® is the Thomas Müller of digital training because it has been consistently proving its worth for many years. And the company behind the product, Swissteach AG from Nidau in Switzerland, has already proven itself to be a reliable partner for a large number of organisations and companies from a wide range of industries in the past, helping them to meet seemingly impossible requirements with structured and technically brilliant work. We need them too!”
Julian finished his presentation with a satisfied smile. His colleagues' scepticism had vanished, and they were convinced of the benefits of a training platform. The company was ready to take the next step in employee training and fully utilise the benefits of this modern solution.
